An Oklahoma man beat up his girlfriend while she was pregnant - then murdered their baby son 10 months after he was born, prosecutors allege.
Hunter Smiley, 25, had already been arrested by police in January 2023 for beating up the infant's mother, who DailyMail.com is not naming, while still pregnant with their unborn son.
At the time, Smiley was charged with domestic assault and battery against a pregnant woman.
He pled guilty to hitting the mother using pieces of a door he had broken while in a fight following a night drinking.
But Smiley is since said to have murdered the child - an adorable boy named Briggs - just 10 months after the infant was born.

Briggs was found non-responsive and hospitalized with brain bleeding and eye hemorrhaging
The baby died from his injuries two days after being hospitalized
Newcastle Police Department were summoned to the home on April 10 after receiving a call about the baby who was non-responsive at the time.
Briggs was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Doctors found the infant had internal bleeding of the brain and hemorrhaging behind the eyes.
The baby subsequently died from his injuries just two days later, on April 12.
Smiley was at the home when officers with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation showed up. Officers also found a gun on Smiley when they arrived.
Smiley was arrested booked into the McClain County Jail on a first-degree murder charge on April 15.

Smiley had been undergoing counseling following the January 2023 incident.
'It is tragic when a life is taken so early,' said District Attorney Greg Mashburn to KFOR.
'We will prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law to be the voice of this victim who is unable to speak for himself. Thank you to the Newcastle Police Department and the OSBI for your hard work on this case so we may seek justice for B.S.'
Smiley has been arraigned but remains in custody with bond was set at $5 million.
He has been ordered to have no contact with the victim's family.
Officials say Smiley's next court date will be at a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 22.
